Prophecies
In response Harry's comments about biblical prophecy. Your tenacity and search for truth is most admirable. To assist you in your quest I can offer the following suggestions. These things have greatly helped me to successfully navigate a path similar to yours.
Not all prophecies are in the Christian bible. There are many other prophetic sources. There are also many that are outright false prophecies, and many that are heavily clouded by the emotions and human biases of the persons (aka prophets) receiving them.
While we tend to believe that prophecies are forward looking into the future and thereby reveal the future to us, that assumption is problematic at best. Prophecies are glimpses into the long term plans of God for our planet. Notice I said "plans". Plans are not the real things. Plans are factual only within the context of planning. Plans are like blueprints, and blueprints only describe what a building "should" be like. The blueprint is not the building. No building has ever been built that is exactly, perfectly the same as the blueprint. With the erection of every building, modifications sometimes become necessary because of unexpected circumstances or conditions. The architect of the building understands this and puts his engineers to work at finding the best solution to the problems as they present themselves. Once the solution has been implemented the blueprint is revisited and updated to reflect the change. I know this because I spent most of my working career doing this sort of thing. Now to apply this principle to God's plan means that God gives every person a form of liberty that is known as FREE WILL. God will never deny us our free will, therefore should we never deny another person his/her free will. Given this fact, it becomes necessary to understand the impact free will can have on God's plan. In order to preserve the supremacy of individual free will God occassionally needs to adjust His plan accordingly. To not do so would cause God's plan to trample upon the free will of some people.
To summarize that long thought. God has a plan and it includes individual free will. Honoring that free will sometimes requires changes to the plan. Since prophecy offers humans a glimpse at the plan, and since the plan is subject to change, it is wise to view prophecy in its proper context and to maintain a flexible attitude about things. The greatest enemy to any of us are calcified thoughts which eventually lead to a calcified mind.
Prophecy is not the same as revelation (not to be confused with the Book of Revelation). If you wish, you can add to your research toolbox information that is made available through revelatory sources. Be aware that there is much fraud in this space and safe passage through it requires due diligence and wisdom on your part.
Since you have an interest in ancient prophecy and seem familiar with biblical/christian terminology, I will point you in the direction of one who calls himself a modern day living prophet, Mark Taylor: https://www.hiskingdomprophecy.com/articles-by-mark-taylor/ So far his end times prophecies have proven to be correct, and they are much more up to date and easier to understand than the prophecies of ancient times.
